June gloom is upon us and the only thing that could possibly cheer me up through all this cloud cover is, to quote John Travolta, ” a pretty f*cking good milkshake!” If you’re lookin’ for a good shake and happen to be in the Long Beach area I highly recommend visiting Dale’s Diner. It is your typical retro diner filled with formica table tops, a juke box player spinning only the oldies, and teal booths and bar stools. But don’t let the slightly cheesy logo fool you, they really know what they’re doing when it comes to music, milkshakes and pies!
I was feeling nostalgic and wanted to blend right in so I went with a Mary Ann meets Ginger look. Surprisingly I am not wearing that much vintage, my denim button up is from Anthropologie and my pants are from American Apparel which makes this look quite easy for everyone to try! The only vintage pieces are my sweater and handbag which I scored in Utah a few weekends ago for $11!
So my hot tip for the day is – you don’t always have to shop vintage to look vintage!
